3/20 March Madness 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Date/Time: 9:00 a.m.Saturday, March 20, 2010 (Mandatory Players Meeting 8:40 AM). Doors open at 8:00 a.m. for check in by 8:30 a.m.
Location: Catholic Central High School Gym, 319 Sheldon SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Cost: $100.00 per team. Please make all checks payable to St. Paul the Apostle.

Space is limited to 50 teams. All entry forms must be completely filled out to be accepted. One form per team. Entry fee must accompany entry form. No refunds will be given after March 6 .

Team Check-In: All team players are required to check in by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the tournament. T-shirts, tournament rules, and first scheduled game information will be given at that time. Brackets other than the first game times will not be posted until the start of the event.

General Rules and Guidelines

  1. Each team will consist of three or four players (three starters and one substitute).
  2. Teams will be placed into divisions according to the grade of their oldest player(s).
  3. Roster changes are not allowed after the March 6 deadline date unless approved by the tournament director(s).
  4. All teams are guaranteed at least 3 scheduled games throughout the day.
  5. Games will be played on a half court.
  6. Scoring will be as follows: one point per basket; two points for shots made from beyond the 3-point arc. The first team to score 15 points, up by at least two, or the team ahead after 15 minutes wins. If the game is tied after 15 minutes then the game ends as a tie – No overtime. There will be no time limit for playoffs. Possession will alternate after each basket.
  7. Tournament director(s) reserve the right to reduce the number of scheduled games, or shorten games due to unforeseen circumstances.
  8. Tournament director(s) reserve the right to combine certain divisions if a lack of entries exists.
  9. Tournament officials reserve the right to refuse entry, eject players, teams, or fans from the tournament without refund for any conduct deemed unfit for public/family welfare.
