What Our Families Say
“Catholic teaching and values are alive and well at St. Paul the Apostle School. Our teachers are committed not only to giving our students quality academics, but to help them grow in a Christ-centered community.
Students learn at an early age that community and family matter. In a pre-school through eighth grade school, the older students help to guide the younger ones. We have reading buddies, classroom helpers, mentoring at school masses, tutors, and more.
Research (and common sense) tells us that schools with the highest parent involvement produce the most successful students. Volunteer opportunities abound at St. Paul’s in areas of academics, faith, arts, athletics, and socials. Parent involvement also creates our community. We have a voice in our children’s education.”

“My husband and I were thrilled when it became possible to move back to Grand Rapids and have our children attend my alma mater. It felt like home from the first time we entered the school and we have never regretted our decision. The Saint Paul’s community is like no other and our children receive an excellent education from dedicated, faithful teachers and staff that doesn’t only include academics. From the weekly school mass, morning prayer, service projects, and mentoring opportunities to excellent athletics, academic experiences, and faith examples - Saint Paul’s encompasses all this and beyond. Our children thrive there and we feel very blessed to be able to provide them with this jump start on life.”

“As prior home schoolers our family was looking for a grade school that was of intimate size and most paralleled a family environment. After reviewing several options we chose St Paul the Apostle School. We felt the St Paul environment most facilitated the transition from home school to a classroom based education. There are many opportunities to take an active role in your child’s education at St Paul.”

“We have had children at St. Paul’s now for 13 years and feel that we’ve made the right choice for our children. We appreciate the smallness of the school and the relationships we’ve had with the staff and other families. While small, the school provides a quality education that well prepares the students for high school and beyond. Our children have benefited from the extra-curricular opportunities of band, choir, sports, and Science Olympiad. They’ve been able to participate on any sports team that they’ve been interested in, and we appreciate this given the fact that they likely will not be on these particular sports teams in high school. The school is located in a family neighborhood which is an extension of the ‘family’ environment of the school.
We are proud to be part of the St. Paul the Apostle parish and school community!”

“The St. Paul School community was the best investment we could have made for the future of our children. From the first day that we joined St. Paul 12 years ago, we felt connected to the school and parish community. Over the years we have built many lasting friendships and have had the privilege to participate actively by coaching various sports teams, as well as take part in numerous other activities. The teachers are caring, supportive and well qualified. The parents are friendly and participate freely. Two of our daughters graduated from St. Paul and have done very well at Catholic Central High School, while our youngest is currently in the Junior High at St. Paul. From academics to athletics, St. Paul offers a quality education based on solid Christian values. In a world that is becoming increasingly more challenging, the investment in an education at St. Paul the Apostle is worth every penny.”

“Sending our kids to St. Paul’s was a very thoughtful and conscious choice for us. As our oldest got close to school age, we spent a year going to various parishes, interviewing schools, and talking to parents. St. Paul’s became the obvious choice, and it has been a blessing for our family ever since. We now have three girls in the school, and the quality of the academics, combined with the incredible community make us realize that we made the right choice. For us, knowing that we are not only strengthening their minds, but also their faiths, makes all the difference in the world.”
