Jr. High Advanced Math - Mrs. Petz

ATTENTION 8TH GRADE ALGEBRA STUDENTS
I will be holding an Algebra review session on Thursday, June 3 from 9:15 to ??? to help you prepare for your Algebra exam on Tuesday.  Please send me an email to let me know if you are coming but come even if you are unable to send me an email!!  Bring your calculator, paper (lined and graph) and pencil.  We can go over your practice diocesan exam or anything else you would like to review.  Mrs. Petz  

Euchre Tournament
Our Euchre Tournament Champions are Jeremy Parks and Joe Kopfensteiner!  Our second place winners were Bart Zervoudakis and Brendan Sullivan!  Congratulations!

Snack Shop
Snack Shop is now closed for the 2009-2010 school year. Thank you for supporting the Junior High Snack Shop!  We were able to donate $185.55 to charities!  They include Rays of Hope for Haiti, Van Andel Research Institute, DeVos Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society. 

 

The seventh grade has been studying line and rotational symmetry.  We had a little fun with left face symmetry.  See if you can figure out our 7th grade students from their left face symmetry!  Who do you think has the most symmetric face?

             

 

 

The Pi Recitation contest winner for the 1st - 4th grade level is Maria Rabaut reciting 125 digits!  Coming in a close second was Anna Mellema with 123 digits!  Coming in third was Lauren Straub with 104 digits!  For the 5th - 8th grade level group our winner was Rylan Jaglowski with 69 digits.  Our second place winner was Josh Sullivan reciting 45 digits.  Third place was taken by Sean Leonard reciting 34 digits with Egan Simmons coming in a close 4th place with 33 digits recited.  Truly amazing!  Congratulations to all of you for your excellent effort! Here are some pictures of our winners and an interesting picture I took.  I call it Iced Pi.
   

6th grade is studying different types of graphs.  Here they are with a human Box and Whisker graph.  The graph shows the lengths of their first and last names combined.
